nBB2 / News: Recent posts

nBB2 is the Java counterpart of the phpBB 2 forum engine. We have launched version 0.9.3 that uses a pure Java runtime instead of a hybrid one. Although the hybrid version offers optimal system integration (for OS dependent functions like chown, chmod), it may have deployment restrictions on budget-friendly environments like shared hosting. So we have decided to use Quercus for the few runtime functions that previously had a native implementation.
