I would like to second this request! My scanner works optimal at 360 dpi, but there is no way to achieve this with NAPS settings (except using the cumbersome native UI, which renders NAPS useless).

Yeah, that shouldn't be the case, but in the meantime Ctrl+Shift+S will save selected.
Hi, I use NAPS2 almost since forever and love it. But with the update to version 7.4.2.0 (or earlier) the behavior of saving PDF seems to have changed. Before: CTRL + S only saved the selected scans. Now: CTRL + S saves all scans into one PDF. In the Settings I already have chosen Save Selected under "Save" button default action. Is there any possibility to get the old behavior back? Thank you so much!

I would love also the ability to add custom scan resolutions to NAPS2. For cross-referencing, this ticket is a Feature Request for just that. https://sourceforge.net/p/naps2/tickets/744/
Hello, I would very much like this option also, esp to add custom resolutions suitable to one's printer. In my case (Epson XP-3100), there is a resolution of 240dpi that sits in the sweet spot between 200-300 dpi. I can use that 240dpi by using the "Use Native UI" option, but that's slower than using "Predefined settings". So please, let us add custom scan resolutions, e.g. via one of the XML config files ! ps: tested with Portable naps2 (windows) 7.4.2

There's definitely an element of network issue to this, but also some problems with NAPS2 as well. I've fixed a couple issues in 7.4.2 that may help. And I also have some plans for the next version that may make it close to fully reliable. I've also updated the doc for those options. Thanks for all the testing you've done, it's been incredibly helpful.
In your profile settings, under Advanced -> Twain Implementation, you can try selecting "Native Transfer" and see if that makes a difference. Otherwise you can try using the WIA Driver instead of TWAIN Driver, or see if Neat has a driver update that might fix the problem.
and here is my setting for the scan profile
Hi I know this issue has been asked before and supposedly the newest version of NAPS2 would fix it. So I just got a neat receipt scanner and scanning in black and white with NAPS2 would invert the color (background becomes black and text becomes white). I am on the newest version of NAPS2 (7.4.1.0). Playing with brightness and contract do not help. I have attached the file and the screenshot of the setting. Please help. Thank you!
Hello Ben, I'm starting to suspect that it might be something related to the company's network, even though it works perfectly (when it works). Anyway, I reran the tests in version 7.4.1 and the problems remain, I recovered the logs from both computers again. I hope I can collaborate. In time, I believe it was necessary to add content about EsclServerCertificatePath and EsclSecurityPolicy to the documentation page for use in Organizations.
FEATURE REQUEST : Enable NAPS2 to recognise when Windows11 dark mode is active.
Support for "Open With" has been added in NAPS2 7.4.1.
NAPS2 7.4.1 should have improved text alignment which will help with words running together.
NAPS2 7.4.1 should have improved OCR alignment (though I'm not sure if it affects this specific document).
Can you try with NAPS2 7.4.1? I've made several changes that I believe should help.
You can try running the Windows 7 software with compatibility mode.
Hi, I have installed the latest available printer drivers: upd-pcl6-x64-7.1.0.25570.exe That did not help. However, the version I have is dedicated for Windows 7 (whereas this PC is Windows 10). Installation failed and HP does not provide such software anymore on their web page. Can you try this test version and see if it makes a difference?

NAPS2 Remove Scan Profile
Thanks. Thats wI found the latest date and copied the file to make it the latest. Why not a time stamp in the filename?
The subfolders in the recovery folder each represent a session (some of them might be old/empty). Dating is done by the windows modified date so if that's changed then it'll be out of order. You can recover them by repeatedly opening NAPS2, saving what you need and deleting what you don't, and then when you re-open again it'll find the next folder it can recover from (if any).

Yes, it looks good, but I think it should work by default without this option.
Hi again Ben. After much trouble I got everything working, but how do yiu recover multiple windows left open (I just leave them open, the tablet would go for weeks and weeks before charging)? I also don't know if it is the last session, as when I copied it across, windows re-dated the folder dates, not in order. I went back and found the newest configuration on the old tablet and used copy to make a most recent recovery. Is that right? I had to recover the files frkm yhe packages cache local cache....
Can you confirm that trying with the 6.1.2 portable works? Also, can you try the 7.2.2 portable and see if it works too?

Hi, Were you able to find the solution to save scanned file to Sharepoint Online? I am looking to do the same. Doing it from command line would be idle.
Thank you. better than nothing. I should have had the files sets replicated on the new machine, snr hopefully restarted how I left off and into it by now, but windows update is taking so many hours taking 10x too long,. It is unreal the world we live in. Even the form here is jumping all ove the place and zooming when clicked, scrolling around and inserting in different position then I clicked to edit, on Chrome Android. Only Facebook and googie groups in desktop mode do this sort of thing. Anyway,...

You can also try copying the recovery folder (inside that same folder) for that, but it's fairly limited and may or may not have what you want.
Thank you, that sounds very simple. That will have backup of lost open file and sessions being worked on? Even if I just get the name of the files, that is going to help. Thank you again.
That indicates the MAPI process crashed. You try checking the Windows Event Log (under Application) to get more info. But it's probably a bug in HCL Notes that I might not be able to do anything about.
NAPS2 stores configuration in %APPDATA%\NAPS2. For example, if your Windows username is Way, it would be C:\Users\Way\AppData\Roaming\NAPS2. Assuming they changed it, Anyscan probably stored data in something like %APPDATA%\Anyscan. The important files to copy would be profiles.xml and config.xml.

I regularly use NAPS2 for OCR and it usually meets my needs well. Since it didn't work too well on a screencap lately, I compared it with ABBYY's OCR, which comes with a free PDF editor I use. ABBYY's OCR gave me much better results. The image I was working with was a screenshot of some programming code, so not your usual scanned document, but the difference in quality was pretty obvious. Is this kind of difference to be expected? And could ABBYY's OCR be a good fit for NAPS2? UPDATE I initially...

Hi, I just tried everything you suggested again (already had done it before post this message) and it doesnt work. It´s really weird that doesnt work. If there is anything I can do to try to fix this error I am glad to help or do some tests if needed, because the software is sooo good, and I would like to use it instead the HP scan software... Thank you for your help Regards
A few things you could try: - Reinstall/update the scanner drivers - In your advanced profile settings, try different options for "Twain Implementation" - In your profile settings, try "Use native UI" (but in this case your settings won't be saved in NAPS2) Generally this looks like it's some kind of limitation with the HP driver.
Here you have a screenshot with profile settings. As you can see is flatbed scanning. And here it is the error it shows when attempting to scan This happens in W10 and MacOs apart from this everything works fabolous The printer/scanner is a HP Color Laser MFP178nw Thank you

You might need to set up the network connection from the HP software before it can be used with WIA or TWAIN. I'm not sure how it exactly works for HP or which software download you need but a lot of older network scanners need that first step of establishing a connection on Windows.
