Hi Ryan! Thank you for your report! The "Quit" entry in the menu under "MyGoGrinder" is not made by me resp. MyGoGrinder, but by MacOS. MacOS expects from programs, which activate the screen menu bar, that they use the "Apple Java Extensions" to fill the program menu (I don't know the menu's real name). If the programmer omits these extensions, MacOS uses it's own routines. That means, that MacOS just urges the Java runtime to exit, but doesn't ask the running Java program, if it wants to do any...

Hi, Ruediger! Thank you for your release b496. I really like it. And i'll also try to find the way to add the feature. sorry for my suggestion and take it easy. Thanks.
Hi parktaije! Thankyou for your idea! I'm sure, it is not trivial (you know: it is not originally my program) . Maybe I find an easy way to add this, then you will see it in the next 2 or 3 ... years :-( sorry, I have a big list of things which have to be done (not the features, just things, where I think they need to be repaired or solved better). I hope to have the 2.4.0-final ready this year. Look into the download area for the 2.4.0-beta. If you find a bug - please let me know! Oh - and try JsekiTsumego...
Hi! Thak you very much. And I have an idea! If there are multi responses ( multi branches) in the solutions, how about Showing branches moves a, b on the board before system chooses the move. Then user click a or b and follows the branche. As of now , on multi branches , system chooses the move randomly. Example. (;CA[utf-8]SZ[19] AB[qd][qf][qe][pb][pc]AW[qb][qc][pd][od][nc] ;B[rb] (;W[rc];B[qa];W[rd];B[re]) ... a. (;W[qa];B[rc]))...b When user click B[rb], mygogrinder chooses W[rc] or W[qa] randomly....
Not sure, if this is solved or even became better: version TESTGrinder-2.4.0-b270, some time ago I added a bit code ( mySound.stop() and Thread.sleep() ) before the sound is started. I don't here an echo now, but now sometimes the sound is missing. I need to look into the code of other projects... Ruediger
My (Carbon Component Manager, MacOS, deprecation warning)
I switched this back to open, as I have no confirmation, that Java 9 has solved this. Ruediger
Thank you for the research Ruediger. Based on your reply I feel that we can both safely ignore this warning. I know I need to upgrade OS X eventually but put it off due to laziness [I need to check compatibility with a couple of device drivers first]. Good to hear you're working on a new version, I look forward to seeing it. I use Tim's app on my android phone. Cheers from Seattle, US -Frank

Hi Frank! Thankyou for submitting this log message. 1) As far as i could see, it is a problem of Java by itself: I compared this message with other messages I found by searching the web. Java programs don't use os libraries directly, but by way of using Java's audio API. Is there a chance on your machine to have Java 9 starting the Grinder? Possibly that Java version uses other (the "native") audio libraries (? CoreAudio API ?). If this fails: start other (Java and native) programs from the console...
