Kylix 2.0 Open Edition is available, and my scene editors builds with it. Early indicators are that the bugs have been fixed; as soon as I've verified this, I'll post a version of it.
The good news: Delphi 6.0 and Kylix can build CLX versions of applications! They look and run identically.
The bad news: CLX has bugs in it that break my scene editor. These bugs do not exist in VCL, the Windows only version, so I'm going to proceed with that version for now.
Delphi 6.0 arrived today. This is the version of Delphi on Windows that can compile Kylix apps. So... does it compile? The answer is YES with a few small edits to do with Linux specific code. Hey! I'm impressed. I can run the same application on Windows or Linux and they even look the same!
First release of sources for MSE for Linux. You'll need Kylix to build it.
First part of the Linux port - the Linux libraries required by any Kylix app:
Qt 2.2.4 and QtIntf 2.2.4.
The port of Model Scene Editor from Windows to Linux has begun. I received Borland's Kylix last week and you can see the work-in-progress screen shots on MSE's homepage: http://mse.sourceforge.net/TheKylixPort.php
Just collected together a ZIP file of the sources for Model Scene Editor. This is built with the Delphi 5.0 package on Windows 98 SE. Once Kylix turns up, the next step is to release sources that are Delphi 5.0/Kylix compatible.
After a number of years working on Model Scene Editor, I decided it was about time to share what I've written and see if anyone else out there wants to join in!
