MOFO Linux v3.0 Beta Arriving Soon
(Blog Post)
Before releasing a beta version of the system, I want to fix a thorny issue with Bitmask encrypted internet and also the helper scripts supporting SoftEther and L2TP/IPSec VPN client connections. It sometimes feels like an uphill battle, configuring SoftEther for desktop clients in an ecosystem oriented towards servers.

MOFO Linux 7.0 Released 02/15/2019
(Blog Post)
Version 7.0 is the developer's response: decentralise, be flexible, and never, ever, accept infringements of the rights to freely think, speak, and peacefully assemble with others. If VPNs are being detected and blocked quickly, obfuscate better.

Look at how Apple quickly buckled under pressure from China to strip VPNs from ita App Store. If you want blood money, plenty of dictators will help you market products as long as they do not empower the masses.

The Problem With Boomer Lawmakers!
(Blog Post)
MOFO Linux has existed, in its various forms, for almost 13 years. I created it because I took a job in a country with very restricted internet and I wanted uncensored access to news and social media. I had no intention of allowing anyone to interfere with ties I had to people anywhere else in the world or to tell me what to think. The system worked and I shared it with my colleagues. Realizing that it was something a lot of people would use, I made MOFO Linux available via SourceForge and various bit torrent trackers. Now my home country is going through a wave of autocracy and moral panics. Lawmakers in several states are trying to erase history they don't like, attack school curricula, interfere with women's health care, and invade the privacy of their residents. Legislators at the national level are similarly embracing autocracy and censorship. They are all incredibly short sighted and poorly written, with no apparent input from experts. Essentially, dumbass BOOMER legislators threw together some red meat to please their donors and voters. The laws are performative, without respect for the Constitution or ICCPR. We, the people, did not ask for them. Examples are: The RESTRICT act Texas Bill HB2690 I never imagined that MOFO Linux would be a weapon to nullify censorship at home, but the situation is what it is. There are severe penalties for persons who help others evade restrictions and access blocked sites. Tell me, what else is new? I will tell you this: the fight is the same as anywhere else. ** MOFO Linux does not compromise, ever. MOFO Linux takes no prisoners, ever. Every censorship barrier is permeable. Find the little holes and bore them as desired. Until autocrats grow balls to cut the cables.** If you have ever wondered why I always make sure that MOFO Linux is well seeded on the bit torrent networks, the reason is to make sure that it can never be deleted from the world, as long as there is a world. Nobody can force be to delete it, as I push each release out there, beyond my reach. Because information wants to be free and truth will eventually win.

MOFO Linux Restores What Dictators Take Away
(Blog Post)
The recent wave of Chinese censorship during the "Two Sessions" locked many people out of contact with foreign / blocked websites. Many VPNs were rendered useless. MOFO Linux users, however, enjoyed constant connectivity that China's Great Firewall could not stop, thanks to apps such as Tor Browser, Lantern, and Bitmask.

Thank You; We're past 50,000 Downloads on SourceForge
(Blog Post)
A notification from SourceForge has arrived in my mailbox, informing me that that MOFO Linux has crossed the milestone of 50,000 downloads during the lifetime of the project. Enthusiasm has gone up and down over time, but people have always been interested in using this special configuration of Linux. There are other, much larger projects on this platform, some drawing 50k downloads in a month, but I am happy that people find MOFO Linux useful for having some control over their internet. Thank you all for giving me a reason to do something meaningful with my time and to find ever more ways to break the fuck out of national internet barriers. I guess a lot of people could simply use Skylink or the next satellite-based internet service. In my case, I gain satisfaction from helping people with basic local services evade restrictions on access and defeat much of their ISP-based surveillance. Today, as from day one, MOFO Linux is there to help you connect despite interference from barriers set up to keep you in a cage. You shall be empowered to find and use internet media: web sites, social media platforms, video and podcast streams, and the darknet. It is your right as a human to speak and hear speech; to write and to read writing; to argue and receive argument; to assemble in peace. May no dictator ever sleep well at night. Know that someone around you is unblocking their internet with MOFO Linux, learning how to deal, how to code, how to find, how to make real. Cheers, MOFO Linux Try my other distros: Skywave Linux - for internet radio / SDRs, Catbird Linux - Leave Windows and make internet content, work with data, learn to code

It runs smoothy, but DNS may be switched to Google's servers by selecting "off" in the controller script. MOFO Linux 5.2 is Released
(Blog Post)
With plenty of updated circumvention applications and a fresh kernel, MOFO Linux 5.2 is released. Downloadfrom here or get MOFO Linux via bit torrent. You will like the refinements in version 5.2! It now uses the sandboxed Tor Browser, which is much more resistant to blocking and surveillance by advanced adversaries. Psiphon and Lantern have been upgraded too, enabling global web browsing from restricted, state censored networks. Freenet, I2P, and Tor bring unblockable, surveillance resistant darknet access. Cjdns mesh networking also received an upgrade, simplifying the process of joining mesh networks such as Hyperboria. Kodi provides access to a vast trove of multimedia content - social media audio and video, radio stations, television, etc. Check the favorites list for some interesting radio feeds hand picked for interesting content. Other crypto tools include Veracrypt and Zulucrypt for protecting the privacy of your files, folders, and storage media. Bleachbit is installed for cleaning and wiping the system. All of this adds up to quite a collection of tools for exercising free expression and accessing the free expression of others with no concession to state censorship anywhere in the world. Enjoy it!
