WARNING! It is a beta as I had not sufficient time to test it. There might be bugs in there, formulars not working etc. Do not upgrade on a production server (tho i use this version with my corp).

MiningBuddy now has a shining new BugTracker available (hopefuly). Click on "Bugs Database" in the top menu and you can explore current bugs (and their solutions) or submit yet unknown bugs. Currently, of course, it's empty - it's new.

So help the development of MiningBuddy - give feedback!

Hello folks!

Finally! 0.4.1 is available. It is a huge security AND bugfix release foremost. This is why i URGE EVERYONE to UPGRADE.

Second, there are a lot of new features in there, for example, users can now opt-in to recive emails from miningbuddy. And when you create a new event, everyone with a validated email address and opt-in status will get a nice invitation by email.

Also new is the preferences engine. It allows me to store preferences in the database and retrive it easily. This makes it possible to set your personal tastes of the can timer page permanently.... read more

Before you all jump to the download section let me emphasise: There is no new content in it! There are only two things in there that are changed (not even new):

1. A framework for PHP4 support. No, PHP4 is not supported yet. So far it just PROHIBITS itsself to be run under PHP4. Once I have all the php4 shizms done the framework will help me support php4.

2. A better database check (that it is indeed, valid). So if you cant get MiningBuddy to run (and get an sideBarOpenRuns error, try this.... read more

You have probably read in the forums, but i'll post it here just to be sure everyone knows about it and to make it a "wee bit more official":

MiningBuddy 0.4 Beta1 works ONLY on PHP 5. If you are running PHP4 please use 0.3-patch1 for now. Hopefully this situation will remedy itsself soon, but until then:

No MB 0.4 on Php4.

MiningBuddy 0.4-beta1 is available. But before you jump the gun and install it: This is a test version only, to proove that I am still working on the project :) MB has just undergone a major rehaul that you will notice in increased speed and less CPU requirement.

Due to the massive changes an upgrade is not possible at this time.

New features:
- Fine grained access control system
- SuperAdmins can manually assign passwords to other accounts
- New concept of an events manager

I am afraid that a new release of the miningbuddy will be a few weeks away. Currently I am implementing a whole new security system, where you can assign fine grained control, like "can add users", "can haul" etc to each user.

Also I am converting most of the script to object oriented code, as MB is getting more complex everyday - it has outgrown its cradle.

Obviously this means that huge parts of the sourceode has to be rewritten, and this takes time.... read more

Moab send me a patchset to make 0.3.1 work with PHP4. So if you run PHP4 and want to try MB, go and download the new file.

There are NO other changes in this release, except PHP4 compatability!

0.3.1 has been released. If you run 0.3 you can upgrade in a snap.

New features:
- Can timer! Counts the minutes until a can will pop. Never miss a deadline again!
- Confirmation boxes for "bad stuff". No more deleting other people by accident.
- User email verification can now be triggered at any time. You'll see a "validate your email now" link in the menu if you do not have verified your email yet.
- Speedups here and there.

- Rudimentary IN GAME BROWSER compatability!*
- Ice mining
- Enabling and disabling of oretypes. So if you only mine 3 oretypes you can disable all the rest and slick up your forms.
- Complete rewrote of oretype handling functions. Now I can add a new oretype in under 1 minute :)
- Several smaller bugfixes

This is, compared to 0.2 just a facelift and some minor interface improvements. There are no new features or major bug fixes. Unless you care about a facelift there is no compelling reason to upgrade. But who would not like things to look a little bit nicer? :)

It is my great pleasure to announce the availability of MiningBuddy v0.2! This is not only a huge bugfix release, but it also comes with a wealth of new features as well!

- User Management implemented. You can now ban, unban, delete and modify users to your liking.
- User Audit. Know exactly who logged in, and when.
- Delete Runs. Due to popular request you can now delete closed runs. (Why?)
- User creation. Users can now request accounts from the login page. Once done, they have to click a link in an email to activate their account. But they can not use the account until an admin has confirmed that the account is legit.. and wanted.
- Facelifts here and there.
- Rewrote a lot of the code.
- Complete rework of the image rendering system.
- Initial admin account setup now a breeze - just request an account! (See readme)
- Most of the features that were requested.

Hey all,

I found a small glitch with disabling the PHP-TIDY system. If you are running 0.1.9.3 and need/want to disable PHP-TIDY you need this patch. If you do not install this patch you will recive PHP-TIDY related warnings and errors when miningbuddy itsself wants to show an error message.

Nothing else is new in 0.1.9.3 Patch 1.

Also I cleaned up the files area and removed all older releases, as well as removing unsused packages. This also means that the download counter got reset to zero *sigh*. But by the numbers, around 100 corporations are enjoying the early stages of miningbuddy.... read more

After rewriting most parts and double checking security issues I am pleased to announce the release of MiningBuddy 0.1.9.3.

New stuff:
- Bugfixes abound! ;)
- PEAR-DB is now included and does not need to be seperatly installed.
- PHP-TIDY can now be turned off for those who do not have that module in their PHP installation.
- Major cleanup of the code.
- Performance boosts.
- Lots of code improvements that are not visible now, but those will make coding easier :)

Seems there was some bug in the SQL-schema file.
You will need this update ONLY if you were unsuccessfull in creating the database schema.

Nothing else is new in this release.

I am in the process of releasing 0.1.9. This is, as mentioned a maintenance release.

Bugfixes:
- Lost password recovery works.
- Creating users now works & generates passwords randomly.
- Image Caching optimized
- Code rewrite in several places
- dropped the ranks (not needed anyway)#
- An initial user can now be created from the web with pwgen.php.

To updrade, just extract the tarball in the same place.... read more

I have fixed my computer problems and have begun majoy cleanup of the code as well as speed improvements here and there. The next release will be a bugfix and maintenance release I am afraid.

After I am satisfied with the curent state of code I will continue on expanding miningbuddy. Next set of features will be user editing.

Im am sorry for the recent delay in new updates and releases. I got myself some new components for my computer and ever since my FreeBSD wont boot, or more precise, the GFX Card does not work with X currently.

As I develop under FreeBSD only, I was unable to continue development in the past weeks.

I hope this will iron itself out soon so that I can keep working on the MB.

V0.1.8 has been released. It contains -as always- many bugfixes. This release in particular was a performance and security release. The authenticication system has been completly rewritten and is now industry-style secured.

Nearly all (known) bugs have been removed now, thus, I will concentrate my efforts on new features (and new bugs) for the next release.

I have removed all the old file releases. There was no point in having them. The most current release is 0.1.7-patch3 which includes all the features of the old versions plus a lot of bugfixes.

Version 0.1.8 is coming along niceley, featuring a more secure login system (with auth tokens)- snooping someones cookies is no longer possible.
