#7 link to some stories at the New York Times the site freezes

Whenever I try to link to some stories at the New York
Times, the site freezes up for a long time (like 2 - 5
minutes... I assume its the time it takes for a
connection time out) and then just breaks (sometimes a
blank page, sometimes a page with a broken story and
some errors)

It's only some stories on the NYT, but its consistent
for those. Here's a good example:
