Changes :

1. Add datetime stamp to right of heads line 1 in format
   yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss. So you know when last run.
   Well I like it :)

2. In zz600 ( age-calc) added name of missing file name
   It is not expected that this message will appear unless mbse install
   is really screwed up, at least by my judgement anyway.

Why ?
OK, now totally fed up with the inaccurate displays of this despite my multi
complaints regarding so, I have now written a program to do it correctly and add
a few tweaks such as human readable sizes, and display of last error reported
from a call in or out with a list of all such error codes displayed at the end
of the normal list subject to a added parameter when starting it. There are other

Fixed is :

1. Updates to the HTML documentation.
2. Fixed build errors related to the updated documentation.
3. Update copyright notices to 2025.

If you want the lastest code base go to the Git tab and then download via the Read/Write ssh tag.
You will need to have a copy git installed prior.

Otherwise you can download the sources via the Fido Filegate at 2:250/1 as I no longer have access to add files here.

We are pleased to announce a minor update for 1.0.7.24., see Changelog file for details but includes updated docs directory content.
MBSE-DOC.ZIP has matching updates as well mostly typo's and spelling and copyright update for 2022.
source code in SVN has been updated to match but have not done same to git as I do not know the command to do so.

A side project Mike and I are working on is trying to get DOSemu to compile under FreeBSD. FreeBSD is Linux-specific so it's going to take a while to translate all of the Linux calls to FreeBSD. We tried to compile DOSemu using Linuxulator but it failed to work. Hopefully we will have better news soon about this side project.

As of this afternoon, MBSE is working correctly under FreeBSD 13-STABLE with these caveats:

• The sysctl security.bsd.see_other_uids tuning knob must be set to 1 (on) in/etc/sysctl.conf as the main 'mbsebbs' process is run under the user who logs in and if that is turned off, mbtask gets confused and panics since it cannot see other PIDs it did not create.

• The telnet program as provided on FreeBSD 13 uses SRA (secure telnet) and if you telnet in from the command prompt, telnet sends the currently logged in user's info to mblogin and it gets confused. So if you do use FreeBSD's telnet program, you must add "-K" (uppercase K) in the command line, i.e. "telnet -K 127.0.0.1". Other operating systems do not have this issue that we are aware of.... read more

Michael Dillion has joined the MBSE Development Team. Mike has a long history with BBSing and is working on modernizing the code and bugfixes.

The MBSE BBS Development Team has released v1.0.7.18 for MBSE BBS. Updates are:

• Fixed the longstanding issue with the wrong binary being put into /etc/xinetd.conf or /etc/xinetd.d/mbsebbs

• SETUP.sh also verifies that xinetd is installed for Devuan systems like it does for Ubuntu and Arch Linux.

Planned updates: we will work on updating MBSE to work better with systemd.

mbse 1.0.7.6, Very small changes :

            1.  Fixed bug that caused netmails posted by MBMSG post to have a destination address of 0:0/0.
            2.  Updated copyright notices to 2018.
            3.  Removed old .cvsignore files from the source tree.

1. Fixed bug causing the -v option (disable virus check) to fail when running mbfile adopt.

Being lazy I have supplied as a zip archive so I can use the same for the Fido files areas MBSE_BBS which will be hatched today.

MBSE v1.0.7.4 update is very small changes for ftscprod.019 as well as the makefile configs to support ~/docs along with some other functions see Changelog :-

1. Updated to FTSCPROD.019 as released by the FTSC.

2. When creating a new ~/etc/domain.data, mbsetup no longer includes entries for FidoNet zones 5 & 6.

3. Began preliminary work on FTN domain aliases, similar to the BinkD "domain <new-name> alias-for
   <name>" option. This will allow MBSE to fully communicate with systems that use
   FTN domain names longer than 8 characters, which are NOT FTSC compliant.... read more</name></new-name>

MBSE v1.0.7.2 has been released which fixes or updates minor functions from 1.0.7 see Changelog :-

1. Fixed first time installation on CentOS 7, caused by the distribution no longer creating a uucp group by default.

2. Added /U switch on door optional data line; replaced with the current user's home directory.

These release has also been supplied to the Fidonet file area for MBSE_BBS today.

MBSE v1.0.4 has been released, this includes updated code for the binkd protocol that had issues dealing with communication with binkd v1.0 and v1.1 when downgrading from 1.1 to 1.0. Also ftscprod has been updated to 016.

After 10 years, hosting of mbsebbs is back here at Sourceforge. Some parts like the manual are still on the old site, but that will be moved too.

Manual is now in the docs folder within the source tree.
