#34 LSLEditor won't run on windows 8?
I can't get the latest download to work under Windows 8. I haven't used lsleditor for a couple of years, but recently wanted to get back into SL and when I tried to use the lsleditor, I found it won't startup under windows 8.
Not sure what other info I can provide?
My understanding of Win8 is that much of the expected methods of use from Win7 and earlier have been changed and is responsible for many apps breaking on it.
Sorry I can't offer any advice. I do not have Win8, so I cannot test it. When/if I ever have a copy to run in a VM I will take a look.
I've hit on a similar problem running LSLEditor under Windows 8.1 64bit. It does run but very very slowly (high cpu for several minutes at a time opening files or reformation & sluggish performance). I've tried changing various LSLEditor settings but still get the same poor results in comparison to the same version (and settings) running under Windows 7 64bit.
Checking windows task/resource managers shows it clocks high cpu with no IO/network/page faulting/no files open.
Note this is on a high spec i7 16Gb laptop and during its "loopy phases" its taking 100% of one of the cpu's.
