The Remove button to remove a drive or a directory at Tools -> Settings -> Databases (tab) -> [select a database] -> Edit is always greyed out, even after I have selected a drive or directory.

Anyone can provide how I can remove a drive from being searched?

The check box tells if the drive or directory is included or not. So, to remove it, uncheck the checkbox and update the database.

      Hi jmj,

I've got no problem in understanding the checkboxes, but, why is it that the "Remove" button at Tools -> Settings -> Databases (tab) -> [select a database] -> Edit is always greyed out?

It's not always grayed out. You cannot remove local drive from the list, but if you use "Add directory" button to add a directory to the list, then it can be removed using Remove button.

But yes, Remove does not have so much meaning: the directory is only included to the database if the checkbox is checked. And directories addded to the list and not checked will not show up in the list next time you open the dialog.
