    Hi,
I just installed Win 10 Pro x64 new. Did the usual Windows updates and drivers download and install.
Then I downloaded Locate32 (locate32_3.1.11.8220a_fix) from sf.net and unzipped it. Upon starting locate32.exe (or locate.exe) from that folder, I get an error that MSVCR120.dll is missing.

Is this a bug in Locate32? Any more infos needed to give me a helping hand?

Thanks and Bests, Björn // Thinkpositiv

Locate32_3.1.11.8220a_fix is a fix build by a user of Locate32 and was compiled in a way that it need Visual Studio 2013 redistributed files. You can find it here (look for Visual Studio 2013 VC++ Redistributable):
    https://www.visualstudio.com/vs/older-downloads/

Other programs you will use might also use the same library and install it for you. So perhaps you can install other necessary programs first and then see if you still need to download and install this package.

    Hi,
thank you for your fast reply. This was the default download offered at https://sourceforge.net/projects/locate32

In the meantime I installed other programs, with these I noticed .NET Framework 3.5 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable. Now it runs fine, so your suggestion was correct.

I also check the installed Apps and noticed that there are Microsoft Visual C++ 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015 Redistributables installed. All of date today, so all are new compared to my initial post. Can't say which exactly "fixed" the missing file.
