    First of all i want to say thank you for this amazing tool.
    im running windows 7 64bit japanese
    using least version of locate
    Trying to run locate.exe in command prompt but console output is unreadable
    with japanese named folders. is there anything that i can try to make it work?

    btw locate32.exe works perfectly in same pc.
    but i need to run locate.Exe with no ui just need results.

    is it possible to run locate32.exe no ui just getting result as text output or some how?

    thank you!!

    Might be console text issues. Howabout if if pass output of the locate.exe to a text file? (locate search_term > file.txt)

    Thank you for your fast response.
    text file output works well.

    I made small app to test the console output result without text file output option.
    Redirect the console output and result were same
    then I change the output encoding to UTF-8 and I get good result.

    Thank you!!

    So it's working fine now?

    Locate.exe should use UTF-8 as the encoding if Unicode is chosen for the databases (which I assume is the case you want if you use Japanice characters).
