We just released an AppImage of Linux Air Combat Version 8.89SD for early beta testing, and we are most anxious to get input from additional users of Valve Corporation's new "Steam Deck". The Steam Deck we have in our LAC development labs is the least expensive version because it has the smallest available flash storage configuration, but it has PLENTY of power for LAC. (Of course, like any other AppImage, this will run on all of the most popular desktop LINUX distros based on industry-standard X86 architecture.)
Download it from our experimental downloads area here:
Keep in mind that this is early beta test software. Our experience on the Steam Deck is limited, and this forum contains the only Steam-specific documentation. The standard control mapping is NOT optimized for Steam Deck. You'll want to want to replace the standard LacControls.txt file with the special Steam Deck version published in this thread:
Also, be sure to read thru the newest information from our online ChangeLog to learn about a few quirks, bugs, and relevant work-arounds. Find our ChangeLog here:
Update 03Nov2022: A newer version, fully optimized for the Steam Deck with all of the controls nicely mapped and other custom features, has just been released. Here's the web page with the announcement:
