this is on a gentoo system with:
gcc (GCC) 3.3.1 20030904 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.1-r1, propolice)
    glibc 2.3.2

the test disk was a Western digital 250 gb. This controller and disk works in
    windows ..
and a datafab cabinet with a 200gb disk(the cabinet doesnt support above
200gb) worked in iee1394 in the same linux system

the profilic controller/cabinet(actually its a emagic cabinet), works with
    usb(but i only have usb1.0 and thats a drag with a 250gb disk)
