I was going to set this up for my parents (to replace a malfunctioning KOrganizer) but they were upset to find the days of the week were not in the correct order - Monday was portrayed as the first day of the week but it's actually the 2nd day of the week. They expect to see Saturday as the last day in the week, and would be too thrown by Sunday at the end. Is there any way to get the days of the week into the proper order - Sunday through Saturday?

It rather depends on where you live and to some extent what your age is.
Reminders adheres to ISO 8601 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601 The international standard for dates which specifically adopted Monday as the first day of the week.
There is an option that I could invoke, to make Sunday to be the first day of the week but that will take time to investigate. You may appreciate that calculating dates can be a rather fraught affair. It may well be a simple change but it does need to be thoroughly tested.
I'm in the middle of my olive harvest at the moment, I'll get back to you in a day or two.
      Regards

Destiny, please find reminders version 2.2.0 on Sourceforge. As I mentioned, I am still busy with my harvest but I did find time to make Sunday or Monday the first day of the displayed week. It does beg the question as to how you deal with the Ubuntu calendar which is fixed with Monday as the first day of the week.
As I was changing this, I took the opportunity to ensure that the code works with Gtk2 and Gtk3.
Reminders 2.2.0 should now be totally python3 compliant and can use either wxpython 4.0.3 (Gtk2) or wxpython 4.0.1 (Gtk3). (The 4.0.1 version is available from the standard repositories)
      Regards
      Rolf
