Exception Error on Start
I am really sorry @KitchM I changed my email address and forgot to change it here on sourceforge, so it purely by chance that I finally saw your ticket. Just 7 months late! :( There's was clearly something wrong with the date and time of that reminder. Did you ever resolve it or did you throw your arms in the air in disgust and remove reminders? :) Again, Sorry about the delay in replying and the grief! Regards, Rolf p.s. I've updated the email address, so should you choose to reply, I should get...
Any help on this problem?

Thanks for reply Rolf! So I used /usr/bin/play -q /usr/share/reminders/sounds/*.ogg to play all sounds that I placed in that directory w/o a problem. But what about the names??? <quote> So check beforehand that it will work and note it must be called reminder.ogg and be converted to ogg format. </quote> . My version of Reminders came with an audio file named 'areminder.ogg' which works fine. Further, just tried setting a reminder and using an audio file named 'alarm.ogg' and it worked fine. Another...
I don't believe there is a discrepency. Sound file choices were added in version 2.3.6 and documented in the changelog, the Readme and the PDF documentation. A test is performed on the selected sound file when you make the selection, within the configuration screen. The command issued is: /usr/bin/play -q /usr/share/reminders/sounds/your_sound_file.xxx where the xxx suffix is any file type that the 'sox' program can play. The sox program is a dependency of 'reminders' so it should on your system....

The devil is in the detail (semantics and punctuation). 1. The accuracy of the issuance of a reminder or snooze will be within a 2 minute window of its designated time, due to the fact that the program only checks, every 2 minutes, to be as lightweight a process, as it can be. 2, ...and snoozes every 2 minutes "checks existing reminders and snoozes, every 2 minutes" (i.e. every 2 minutes, it checks for reminders and snoozes, that need to be issued) 3. There is no choice of chimes/alarms. What is...
This post got lost in [Requires Moderation] "Sorry if I am unclear. Let's try again." Indeed, let's try again! A reminder or a snooze is executed as an Always on Top, modal window. Thus the OS should present it on top of all other windows and insist on a response, be it a Click or an Enter on the focused window. If this is failing, I would have thought that other applications would be acting up as well.
Sorry if I am unclear. Let's try again. If the program is running and the display appears but I do nothing, what happens?
I can only suggest that you do a few tests, for you own peace of mind. I have just tested a reminder for 3 minutes into the future, with no repeat, whilst playing audio in a player, in full screen mode and designated "always on top", ditto for a video and both reminders popped onto the screen. Neither a reminder nor a snooze should be out by more than 2 minutes. Reminders does not attempt to be a stopwatch, it checks existing reminders and snoozes every 2 minutes to see if any notices should be posted....
I'm unsure as to why you are having problems using the time windows, I wonder if you could post an image of what displays on your operating system. Both the hours and minutes start at Zero, with hours going to 23 and minutes to 59. They can be advanced and reduced using the mouse scroll wheel, the up/down keys, by clicking on the up/down buttons beside them and simply by typing in a number, so I thought I'd covered all the bases there. Tabbing doesn't work between the fields, I don't recall if that...
Missed reminders and missed snoozed reminders (those that passed whilst the reminders program was not running) are removed when the program starts. The exception to this rule, is for those reminders which repeat weekly or a longer period. This is to avoid a rash of useless reminders if you start the program after having not used it for a while. The reason for not doing this for those longer period reminders, is that they might be very important and even a late reminder may be useful. Snoozed reminders,...

Meterological information comes from openweathermap.org, if they send mm, I use mm. I could divide it by 25.4 I suppose but somewhere in the mists of time, I chose not to. Astrological information is covered, along with weather, in its own section. Just as with Moon information, there are buttons on the right, below Birthdays, which if clicked, provide the information you are looking for, if it has been setup up. That requires that you have clicked Astronomical in the Tools->Latitude & Longitude...

Evidently, my bad. I believe I was viewing the wrong file; possibly looking at your web site. I will read thru and get back to you. Thanks very much.
Why is rain in mm instead of in when un-selecting Units(Metric)? Also, the "beast" does not explain that setting.
I don't see how to get the astrological information or where it displays. Also, there is no section entitled Create a New Reminder, nor is it available from the drop-down menu.

Destiny, please find reminders version 2.2.0 on Sourceforge. As I mentioned, I am still busy with my harvest but I did find time to make Sunday or Monday the first day of the displayed week. It does beg the question as to how you deal with the Ubuntu calendar which is fixed with Monday as the first day of the week. As I was changing this, I took the opportunity to ensure that the code works with Gtk2 and Gtk3. Reminders 2.2.0 should now be totally python3 compliant and can use either wxpython 4.0.3...
It rather depends on where you live and to some extent what your age is. Reminders adheres to ISO 8601 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601 The international standard for dates which specifically adopted Monday as the first day of the week. There is an option that I could invoke, to make Sunday to be the first day of the week but that will take time to investigate. You may appreciate that calculating dates can be a rather fraught affair. It may well be a simple change but it does need to be thoroughly...
I was going to set this up for my parents (to replace a malfunctioning KOrganizer) but they were upset to find the days of the week were not in the correct order - Monday was portrayed as the first day of the week but it's actually the 2nd day of the week. They expect to see Saturday as the last day in the week, and would be too thrown by Sunday at the end. Is there any way to get the days of the week into the proper order - Sunday through Saturday?
A .deb is just a debian archive file, which you can open with your archive manager of choice. Within you will find the python sources. There is talk of using a package called "alien" to convert .deb packages to .rpm but I don't know whether that still holds true. The alien package is available on sourceforge. Just for your information, I am converting all of my software packages to python3 and wxpython 4, including reminders. They should be available soon, although wxpython 4 is still in beta, thus...
It appears that Linux-reminders might be a good replacement for Reminderfox which is not supported by Firefox 57+. As I'm running Fedora, the .deb binary (?) is not useful. Is the source available>
