"For such a humble piece of software, people sure do want it to do a lot of stuff" said trevorSpheric in a recent interview. "I mean, it's just a blind-accessible niche-directory builder, it's not supposed to be television" he continued. Nontheless, users continue to demmand more features and have begun to bend the software outright into a mini content-management system. And like any open-source project that gains any attention at all, project admins quicky loose direct control over the roadmap. "We're looking forward to a new phase of development called 'OpenStairs' which will be a protective system to lock your little darling software under until she's 18 and can pay for her own car and apartment" said trevorSpheric. "If she goes to college from there, at least you know she's ready" he said. "Until then, you have to watch out for these link farmers with bad intentions, persons of ill repute and poor character" he concluded.

linkSpheric directory management software is in beta and the most recent release is testing well. With a more standards-compliant XHTML front-end, the software is accessible, crawlable, secure and easily customizable.

The direction that's evolved for linkSpheric is "directory building" as opposed to "link management".
