The latest CVS code now includes a debugging console - you can type in Lua commands and see the results.
To access,
1. Make sure the game is compiled with DEBUGMODE defined
2. Press '\' during the game to open the console
3. Type Lua commands, use 'return' to see results, e.g. 'return 2+2'
4. Press enter on a blank line to close it.
Note you can't open a console during combat!
I've made the switch from the old MySQL 3.x database to the new 4.x one that SF.net has introduced. It was much harder work than I imagined, because PHPWiki just refused to import pages from a backup. Also pending is an upgrade to PHPWiki 1.3.11p1, but my first attempt at this ended in total failure!
When did the 'screenshots' feature appear? Anyway I added some, taken directly from the web page ( http://kqlives.sourceforge.net/index.php/ScreenShots )
After a long wait, new snapshots for Mac and Win are available. These are just what you need to play the game. There may well be bugs and 'unfinished' bits. Any feedback, email me!

You may download the tracked songs, donated to the KQ game, at the following address:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=61344&package_id=124929
These have not yet been implemented into the game engine, however. Feedback, suggestions, or other music donations are welcome.
The KQ website system has been updated from 1.3.4 to 1.3.6.
Apologies to those who saw only a mess of PHP code, between about 7:30 and 11:00 GMT yesterday!
KQ has been ported to BeOS, by the mighty Edge. Check out the BeBits website on
http://bebits.com/app/3562
or on his hosted site here:
http://edge.beemulated.net
It's an earlier version, but we're working on getting the latest code to compile.
The Mac version should be OK now - please email or submit a bug report if it isn't!
Apologies to Mac users - there's a bug which means that all combat is disabled. Hence the game is VERY easy on Macs ;) Look for a corrected version this weekend (I know the problem, I just need time to rebuild and upload)
Sorry,
Pete
KQ is an old-skool RPG in the style of Final Fantasy.
KQ's latest release now includes a Macintosh version, which needs testing!
Please see the files section for the source and binary (Windows only) releases
Thanks to the splendid work being done by the Allegro guys (lillo in particular) [http://alleg.sourceforge.net/], KQ now compiles on Mac OSX. It's not playable yet, but it's looking good:

KQ is under consideration for the Debian GNU/Linux system! Check out http://packages.debian.org/unstable/games/kq.html
A work-in-progress version of the win32 binaries has been released. Anyone else should know how to compile anyway ;)
Let us know what you think!
The script that auto-updates our code docs from the CVS isn't working at the moment. Remarkably, it's not my fault!

For this known issue.
I've merged in the code changes from Team Terradactyl.
On another front, look out for the new opal cave pretty soon!
KQ uses DUMB for its music. Please see http://dumb.sourceforge.net/
The older system, JGMOD, is still available with a config setting to the makefile.
I'm still working on commenting that code! Check it out on the website.
...well kind of, anyway.

A script patch has been submitted which solves the problem you have in picking up a partner after rescuing the mayor from the Goblins.
The mysterious reappearance of an indestructible dark imp boss used to stop you getting back to Ekla. No longer. Once you've defeated him, he's gone for good!
We've had 950 page views and 120 downloads so far, which puts us at an activity level of 97%. Well done to all concerned!
And we haven't even started improving KQ yet...
Congratuations to Eduardo "Dudaskank" who squashed the troublesome Flash Flood and Shop bugs that were crashing KQ.

Binary versions of 0.91 (courtesy of ReyBrujo) have been added - for Win and DOS.
