KouChat / News: Recent posts

It's been a while since last time I worked on KouChat. Been busy with school mostly. When my summer vacation started, I felt like fooling around with C++. So, why not start with something motivating? KouChat has GUI, networking, XML, string parsing, and other fun stuff. Much better than those boring C++ tutorials everywhere.

I never thought I would get this far. I have almost no clue about C++, and this version is feature complete compared to KouChat 0.5.1! It still needs some finishing touches, but it's very usable right now. I use Qt4 as the toolkit, and I'm very impressed by how easy it is to use, and how excellent the API docs are. The first release is out! KouChat 0.5.1 is an early release, missing some functionality which the full version is going to have, but it is fully functional. It supports system tray integration, away messages, topic, individual colors for every person in the chat, and notification when someone writes.

Give it a spin, and let me know if you have any problems :)
