Activity for KeePass Favicon Downloader

I cannot find a way to have KeePass (v. 2.53.1, but also in earlier iterations) to default to displaying a specific category of UNs/PWs/URLs among the several I have. It default to a group I infrequently use. One user suggested making a significant change or addition to the content an existing entry in the group I wanted a as default. I tried this, but it did not work. In other words, when I boot up my computer, how can I have KeePass first show the UNs/PWs/URLs saved and specific to (by way of example)...

I can't see a way to enforce this but please can you reply to the KeePass thread rather than this one, just so any responses are all kept in the same place. Thanks.

Please see this new post on the KeePass forum: https://sourceforge.net/p/keepass/discussion/329220/thread/9a54032510/ I wanted to post it there to ensure the full range of current and potential users of this plugin can read and respond to it.

All computer font sizes are correct for printing but are usually an incorrect size on screen relative to paper. In the case of keepass they are very, very tiny and almost impossible to read. Please provide a user option for fonts and icons that lets users choose a size between one that is correct for HD resolution (1920) and an alternate correct for UHD (3840) -- basically 2X.

OK, I'm not too optimistic given the time of the last update but here goes: A lot of sites fail downloading favicons, I think I know where the issue is but I'm not an internet expert. An example that will fail is "https://au-en.ring.com", I believe you need to remove the left segment and try again, doing that "https://ring.com" works, probably until there is one dot left (or it works of course). The "YetAnotherFaviconDownloader" plugin seems to do this already (or at least it works).

Development now happens on GitHub but regardless, I've not done any work on it for years because I've had no need to and there's been no clear indication of widespread problems with the current version. I'm not familiar with errors creating secure channels but it certainly sounds plausible that the code and/or .NET version the current version of the plugin utilises will hit problems as TLS standards have been improving in recent years so if you can help out with a PR on GitHub that would be appreciated....

  • Tim Tim posted a comment on discussion Help

The plugin is no longer working on some sites that are enforcing SSL which is the vast majority of sites these days. The error I'm getting, "Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel", seems to be happening on certain sites where the weaker encryption protocols like TLS 1.0 and SSL 3 are disabled. The project hasn't been updated in years so is there any way we can help out and contribute to code and fix these errors to keep the project alive? I've run into this SSL/TLS problem with several of my own...
