#30 dd error when I try to backup to tape

I configured kbackup to point to /dev/tape . I can rewind the tape from the actions menu so I know that it is working. Then I set the archive format to tar and the root backup directory, but when I try the backup I get a dd error. It flashes so quickly that it's difficult to see (in ttymode there is no output at all). The backup does not succeed.

This program is really nice and I would really like to get it to work. It has all the features I've been searching for, for a really long time in a fairly intuitive interface. The only problem is that it doesn't work and botches what should be a simple "tar cvf /dev/tape directory" command!!!
