Latest release out fixes numerous bugs, in particular to the iptables script generation. It also adds the ability to remotely install and execute a script on a remote firewall (via SSH). Also many display bugs, and other annoyances have been fixed.
JWall realeased version 0.7.6, while still a developers version, most core functionality is there, and most bugs are limited to "not yet implemented" or display errors. You can currently create an iptables policy for multiple firewalls, but you must copy the file to remote firewalls manually.
New release allows for iptables script generation. Scripts still need to be copied and run on remote firewall manually.
This is just the second release since rebuilding from the ground up. Minor fixes to 0.7.
After aboout an 18 month hiatus, JWall is active again. If you are interested in contributing, please email me at zack@the-links.net
Jar file for easy use. This version is still just for testing purposes. There is no longer long term persistence, as we are moving it to XML. NATing for iptables has been added though. Check it out.
This is the first packaged release. Untar and you will have a jar file and the othe necessary support files. Run "java -jar jWall.jar" from the jWall directory, or wherever your jWall.jar file ends up.
If you want source, you will have to go back one rev. Or better yet, get it from CVS.
This release shows the potential for all who are curious about this project. While it is a pre-alpha release, the basic functionality is there. Scripts can be created for both IPChains and IPTables.
