i use a 2.6.5 kernel, with the realtime kernel module
(www.joq.us/realtime). as of jmax version 4.1.0 and
when using the suid bit on fts, trying to access the
audio interface via the jack server will cause jackd to
crash, fts to go wild and the machine to be nearly
hard-locked. removing the suid bit fixes the crashes,
but the jack layer is too unstable to be really usable.
it actually seem far less stable than earlier cvs
snapshots i tried.

i attach the patch Patrice (p_tisserand) sent me: the dtd
package compiles fine and jmax seems to work ok with gcc >
3.3. thanks Patrice!

Mistake the preceding comment was for "[ 949069 ] jMax doesn't
compile with gcc-3.3" bug.
