A new version of JEngine has been released. Version 2.0 now runs on top of JBoss 3.2 and includes translations. This latest release qualifies JEngine as real solution for small to medium hospitals and software vendors requiring HL7 integration.
JEngine has crossed the Atlantic to the UK and has been successfully deployed by Healthcare Software Systems Ltd, the largest independent vendor of radiology information systems in the UK (http://www.hssnet.com). One installation of JEngine is a PACS integration at University Hospitals Leicester and is part of a district wide radiological information system with 4 hospitals online. The other installation is James Paget Hospital in Norfolk, where JEngine is used for Hospital Information System integration to the RIS.
The purpose of this project is to build a world class open source Enterprise integration engine. Uses of JEngine include healthcare systems/hospitals HL7 interface engine, intergration of HL7 with EMR and Practice Management Systems.
JENGINE INTERFACE SERVER GOES LIVE
AT ASHLAND COMMUNITY HOSPITAL
ASHLAND, OREGON (26 MARCH 2002) -- JEngine Group LLC has successfully deployed the JEngine Interface Server, an Open Source cross-platform interface solution, at Ashland Community Hospital. JEngine has been the HL7 messaging engine for the 49 bed hospital since March 7, 2002. The product has been primarily responsible for moving Admission, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) messages from Siemens MedSeries4 to the M2 Clinical system and Hanns On Pharmacy system.
Sidney Bowland, Director of MIS at Ashland Community Hospital, says that,We were able to quickly leverage the power and stability of the Open Source JEngine Interface Server to eliminate high cost and high maintenance point-to-point interfaces. JEngine has saved us money by eliminating those interfaces and high license fees for an interface engine. We now have the data we need at our fingertips for future systems needs.
Christian Schultzke was the lead IT implemeter on the interface project. JEngine Group was a pleasure to work with. The testing phase went very smoothly with extremely fast turn-around times for the few issues that arose. All phases of the project went without a hitch. I am happy to say that JEngine is one of the most stable software products in our network. It makes my life much easier.
Ashland Community Hospital is realizing the benefits of the Open Source JEngine Server by taking advantage of the non-existent license fees and the quality and expert professional services of the JEngine Group. Jacek Zagorski, Managing Member of the JEngine Group, says, The JEngine Server and JEngine Group are a fantastic combination: world-class, cross-platform Open Source software and top-notch professional services. We provide high value and high quality, especially for small and medium sized organizations that don't have the budget for a high ticket interface engine.
The JEngine Group maintains a website with an overview, whitepaper and activities of the JEngine project team at http://www.jengine.org. JEngine is a collaboration between Shasta NetWorks LLC (http://shastanetworks.com) based in Ashland, Oregon and Intalgent Technologies, LLC (http://intalgent.com) based in Dulles, Virginia.
Testing going on in parallel to the deployment at Ashland Community Hospital has pushed the JEngine server past the 450,000 transactions mark in 3 days. The number of transactions would carry Ashland Hospital to more than 3 year uninterrupted runtime of their JEngine Interface Server.
JEngine Group LLC is please to announce the release of the JEngine demo. Please go to the download area and get jengine-0.8.0.zip which is the version we have currently deployed to our first customer.
