When opening the users-guide.xml file for the Look and Feel plugin, I get this error:

/home/danson/src/jedit/plugins/LookAndFeel/users-guide.xml
5:I/O error while parsing: resource with publicId=-//OASIS//DTD DocBook XML V4.3//EN systemId=http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/4.3/docbookx.dtd cannot be resolved, caused by java.io.FileNotFoundException: /home/danson/.jedit/dtds/cache5050394480639137440.xml (No such file or directory)

The file is not parsed by the XML plugin and Sidekick does not show anything.

The path shown in the message is where the dtds used to be stored, now they are stored in ~/.jedit/plugins/XmlPlugin/dids, and the cache file is actually in that location.

Have you tried Plugins > XML > Clear resource cache?
