#2 converter hangs on 90% MP3 files I try
I downloaded numerous MP3 files from the Internet. All but one failed to complete using the javazoom.jl.converter.jlc class. It starts and prints dots up to a point, then hangs forever. Control-C is needed to break out.
The only difference I can see from the one that works with the ones that don't is that the working one says "File is a Layer III frame Joint stereo ..." whereas the others do not say "Joint". Unfortunately, I have no idea what this is.
This was done on an NT with Sun's JVM 1.3 and 1.2.2.
Download Javalayer 0.0.8, try again and send a piece of MP3 with that problem to ebsp@iname.com

Running in Windows 2000 with JDK1.3 installed I haven't had any problems with any MP3s I have encoded or grabbed from other locations.
