Jake2 is still alive. We released version 0.9.5 with some new features and bugfixes.

There is an updated webstart version of Jake2. The new version got a lot of bugfixes and improvements especially concerning the multiplayer server support. We have a permanent gameserver up and running with Jake2 in dedicated server mode. Just connect your Jake2 client to jake2.in-chemnitz.de or use the preconfigured webstart link:

With the new release savegames are working. So you can take a break on your mission.
Besides savegames ther are a lot of other improvements like command line completion in console, better fullscreen vidmode selection, improved performance and many bugfixes.

Finally we released Jake2-0.9.2. New features are the new "fastjogl" OpenGL renderer with massive performance improvements, the joal sound engine and fullscreen support on Windows.
The jogl team will show Jake2 at the JavaOne and at the WWDC as anJava OpenGL example.
