Not dead ...

Just to let you know that Ice Ice Penguin is not dead just yet.
I'm currently working heavily on the online gameplay and it's making good progress. I hope to have a new release out before christmas (2008 that is). Due to some pressing issues in my ~normal~ life, I can't guarantee I'll be able to make it this year ... but I'll try :)

Just renaming

I just renamed the .deb and .rpm packages according to their actual content. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Final gameplay mechanics in 1.5!

Version 1.5 of Ice Ice Penguin is (probably) the final version of the game mechanics. The next big version should be 2.0 and should have online gameplay, a level editor (for details on how to create new levels without the editor, read the README) and perhaps even an AI, but the gameplay, as it is now, is how it is supposed to be.
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as me and my family and friends do.

1.0.2 - now with Bears!

New really nice release, playwise. Now polar bears are spawned from time to time. They eat penguins that cross their way, but more importantly, if a bear enters a player's targetfield, the player's score is lowered by 15 points (the score can not get negative though). That should make the game much more interesting.
There are also a few additional sound effects and other minor changes.
This version wasn't extensively tested (due to lack of beta testers), so please tell me if you find a bug.

0.9.5 released - now with multiple levels!

I know I've been releasing on a nearly daily basis (despite a certain third chapter of a certain game taking up a lot of my time), but this release is actually quite nice.
You can now easily change the level that will be used, you can even let the game choose a level randomly.
I also included instructions on how to create your own levels (as long as I didn't write the in-game level editor ... which could take some time) in the readme.... read more

So much for last second changes

I wasn't sure about the soundtrack, so I tried a few others, and reverted to an mp3 version of "Retrorific" before uploading the initial release. Well ... that wasn't so smart, as my AA1 didn't like the mp3. So I replaced it with an ogg.
I also disabled the debug output, which nobody but me needs anyway.
Sorry for the inconveniences.

On another note : please contact me if you happen to have a nice blender model of a bear (possibly already rigged) you would allow me to use. I can probably model one myself, but if I can save myself some work on that front, I'd be more than happy.
