Clicking the song ruler should change play mode from PATTERN to SONG
Gods be praised! This behaviour has bugged me for so so long. Thanks for the heads up; this ticket can be closed (I looked to see if I could do it myself, but maybe don't have permissions?).

Have you checked out the latest version of Hydrogen? Because this is exactly what it does. - clicking the ruler of the song editor activates Song Mode and places transport somewhere in a song - clicking the ruler of the pattern editor activates Pattern Mode and places transport somewhere within a pattern

I also tested with another song : the one that opens with Hydrogen by default: same problem ! so it's not related to my specific project
a screen capture attached . I also tried with the Hydrogen appimage (1.2.2) and get the same bug.

Hello Derrick! Sorry for replying so late and thanks for your request! The current development is done entirely on GitHub: https://github.com/hydrogen-music/hydrogen/issues. You will also find a "Disccusion" board there, where new ideas can be discussed. Have fun using Hydrogen! This issue tracker here at SourceForge is not used by us anymore, i will see if i can set it to "read only".

No apologies necessary, I am entirely grateful for the insights you share. I have really come to appreciate the updated Hydrogen running on my Windows 10 computer (cool new drum sets, instrument muting/soloing capability to name a couple of terrific features missing from the first version I downloaded and which I am running on the XP computer.) BTW, pandemic has curtailed live rehearsals, so folks with whom I have played music for the past few decades continue to attempt to play together online using...
Hi Joe! i'm sorry, i've messed up the link to github, there was an addtional "." at its end. The correct link is: https://github.com/hydrogen-music/hydrogen/issues/917 . About the file compatibility: It is problematic if you open songs which were built with 1.0 in older versions of Hydrogen, but it is not problematic to use files which have been generated with 32bit version with the 64 bit version (and vice versa). The older versions of Hydrogen are also available on Sourceforge: https://sourceforge.net/projects/hydrogen/files/Hydrogen/...
Thanks for your reply. A few comments in response. 1. The link to github is not available, so I was unable to check out the previous bug report. 2. I uninstalled the unworkable Hydrogen on the XP computer, downloaded the beta link on the Windows 10 computer, copied it to a thumb drive, reinstalled on the offline XP computer, and got the same error message when attempting to open the program after what appeared to be a successful installation. 3. I uninstalled again, and used my original saved download...
No joy here. I uninstalled, downloaded the link and tried to install, the installation proceeded, but I am still unable to run H2 on the old computer, still getting the same error message regarding CancelloEX. Ideas?
Hello Joe! The error message The procedure entry point CancelloEX could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll seems to indicate that this version does not run on Windows XP, a similiar bug has been reported at our github bugtracker: https://github.com/hydrogen-music/hydrogen/issues/917. You could try to download https://sourceforge.net/projects/hydrogen/files/Hydrogen/1.0.0%20Binaries/Hydrogen-1.0.0-beta1-win32.exe/download and copy this file to your old computer, and install it...
updating Hydrogen on Windows XP
Thank you very much for the program!
