We have created FreePascal bindings to PortAudio (http://pascalportaudio.sourceforge.net), hoping to build WslAudio, the audio engine for HuMuS, on PortAudio and our bindings. But, as WiSeSLAp is progressing fast in pre-alpha status, we still don't have HuMuS and WslAudio in focus right now.
Work on WiSeSLAp has started again after a period of stagnation and reconsideration. However, it appears that there will be some time before actual HuMuS coding can commence. A wiki will be opened nevertheless as a forum of conceptual work. Coding is now mainly done in Pascal for both projects.

We move to developer blogs for news and in-depth reflections about the development process. Roland Schaefer's blog is here:

hello,
please read the wiseslap status update, it's also the implicit humus update.
despite the (non-oss) pressure i'm under, i've started laying out the ui of the developer client. expect at least screenshots or commits in april 07. it will allow loading of wave and midi tracks, definig plugins chains, connecting to jack (simple stereo only). and then some.
cheers/rs
One major change of plan for the long time which will have to pass while we're waiting for WiSe SLAp to go bronze or silver: Around 2007/08 we'll provide a QT4-based developer client for engine development, plugin testing etc. including a first version of the engine. It will be developed at the second Summoner of Code (SnoC) retreat.
Cheers!

We're still in the design phase. Currently, a study of the arrangement view is being prepared along with definitions of its functionality.
Otherwise, manpower is going into making final versions of the visual widgets for WiSe SLAp and put them in separate SVGs.
Cheers!

As of today, the final .gpl of the HuMuS 1.0 standard palette is available in its final version. The first partial feature freeze.
Also, on the project web site, the first drafts of whole HuMuS views have started appearing. Notice that they are NOT generated by program code, but within Inkscape as design drafts.
The HuMuS application palette for v1.0 is nearing its final release. A full freeze will not be declared before June 2007, though. The ergonomically designed palette contains the 6 WiSe SLAp grey tones, instantiations of the 8 WiSe SLAp widget colors (for buttons, backgrounds, knobs, etc.), and 42 data colors to be used for track colors etc. Go to SVN for Inkscape-SVG and palette files. Copy the 'humus_v1.gpl' to 'usr/share/inkscape/palettes' to have a HuMuS swatch available (in the 'Object' menu).
We have as of today started the official discussion of the functionality and specs of HuMuS. We use the SVN server (/spec) to work on the TeX and SVG files.
