Hotmail server doesn't mark messages as read when Mail.app does. Mail.app(2.1), HttpMail (1.49)

i am having the same problem.
i have tried the various settings in preferances under accounts.
nothing seems to work... is it because of the new windows live mail? if so.. what should i do?
