1st Linux release of OpenSprings Modules C++ development libraries. These libraries give developers the ability to create flexible and consistent user interfaces across multiple platforms. We now have GUI, Core, Filesystem, and XML for Windows and Linux X11. You'll be able to make a GUI for Windows and X11 quicker with our libraries than you could make either one from scratch on your own.
We've updated and extended the project overview. It's now much more detailed with a full list of classes and even some screenshots. Worth a look. Get it here: http://www.opensprings.org
Hotsprings Inc. is pleased to announce the second release of its breakthrough C++ development libraries. This latest release adds XML functionality to the existing Core and GUI modules. Developers will be able to quickly and easily configure user interface elements via XML. This capability, when combined with the next release, X11 compatibility, will give developers the ability to create flexible and consistent user interfaces across multiple platforms.
The existing plan had called for the XML module to be released next, followed by Networking and possibly Multimedia. The full cross-platform infrastructure would be added after that. We've decided to finish the XML module which is already in development and follow with the Linux elements. The Linux infrastructure will make the existing modules fully cross-platform. Developers will be able to use the Modules to create GUI and core function elements for applications. These elements will have fully customizable common look and feel across Windows and Linux. Developers will be able to easily control GUI elements with simple XML configuration files. A tentative ETA for the XML module is end-October. We hope to have the Linux elements released by mid-December.
We are pleased to announce the first release of OpenSprings Modules. When finished, the Modules will comprise the only comprehensive, cross-platform, open source set of C++ development libraries. This first release contains the Core and GUI modules. Included are three small example applications, and basic documentation. We plan to release the rest of the modules in stages over the next few months. ... read more
