Comet update problems

I installed 4.3.2d on Windows 11 Pro 24H2. I can not get updated comets to display. My File menu does not show the comet or asteroid data editor options, nor does Ctrl+3 or Ctrl+4 appear to do anything. It appears that I can update the comet database via File/Settings/Update, and a new file is written to Documents/hnsky/hns_cmt.cmt, but recent comets like C2025A6 (Lemmon) and C2025R2 (Swan) are not showing up on the screen, nor in the object search menu. If I download https://minorplanetcenter.net/iau/MPCORB/CometEls.txt in a browser I see the new comets in that file.

    Hi Philip,

The problem was caused by a small change in the MPC file format. The line where one byte shorter then previously. I have adapted the HNSKY routine and released an update HNSKY 4.3.2e. Download and install it. Tell me if this works for you. I have update the Windows and Linux version.

Ctrl+3 or Ctrl+4 are no longer in use. The comet and asteroid editor where removed since nobody was using it. The manual requires and update but that is outstanding.

The update with the fix you can download from here:

That worked. Thank you so much for the quick fix!

On the subject of comets, is there a way to plot the path of the comet, perhaps with hourly or daily tick marks? I am trying to see when it might be near other interesting objects in the sky.

Yes use the menu Screen, Animation ctrl+R.

First search for the comet. E.g. in the search menu by typing Lemmon and press comets. Then select it.
    Then select menu Animation
    Select planetary tracks.
    Select your time period.
