MediaWiki - Hidden namespaces patch / News: Recent posts

Finally got around to create a patch-file for those who don't want to work with files. Both releases for 1.16.1 has got updated README-files.

A set of modified files for MediaWiki 1.16.1 is now released.

Due to changes in MediaWiki, links to pages in hidden namespaces are now likely to appear several places, most notably in the special page "Logs", and "Wanted pages". I'm working on it.

I've been testing the patch on MW 1.16.1, and it looks promising. A few kinks are yet to be sorted out, but it looks like we'll be able to release an update fairly soon.

I just tested the patch on a MediaWiki 1.15.5 instance, and it pulled through with a little offset.

We'll skip directly to 1.16 on the next release. The aim is to have a working patch ready within a few weeks.

The patch for MW 1.15.1 is tested and runs on 1.15.3 with some offset. It probably works for 1.15.2 as well, though this is not tested.

Note that the files for 1.15.1 will probably fail somewhere in a 1.15.3-instance.

A proper patch and files will probably appear some time soon.

A patch and a set of patched files for both MediaWiki 1.14.0 and 1.15.1 are now released. I completely forgot to announce the release of 1.14.0, so I'm including it here.

As always, a simple explanation is included in the README-file. If you have suggestions for improvement, both to the actual patch/files or the explanation. Please add feature requests and/or bug reports as trackers on this project.

The patch (and already patched files) for MW 1.13.3 are finally done.

You can download and install the patch as the previous releases (follow the README-file), or download a set of already patched files from the download section, and copy these directly to the includes-folder, overwriting the old files.

The patch (and already patched files) does create hidden namespaces as the previous releases, but fails to hide changes made to hidden articles from the Recent changes, thus showing links and page-names. Users without proper rights are prevented access to hidden namespaces as usual.

A patch for MediaWiki 1.12.0 is released.

The hiddenwiki-patch V. 1.11.0 is tested and works for MediaWiki V. 1.11.2 as well as 1.11.1 and 1.11.0

As far as I can tell the patch for MediaWiki 1.11.0 works with MediaWiki 1.11.1 as well.

The new patch also fixes the bugs #1752392 (restoring an older feature) and #1752753.

We've added a set of the changed files from a MediaWiki 1.10.0 v2 installation after the patch is applied. They can be found in the CVS-repository.

A new patch for MediaWiki 1.10.0 is released, as always ment to patch a "clean" installation of MW. Remove the old patch with the command

patch -p0 -R < hidden1.10.0.patch

or copy the original affected files over the patched ones.

The new version fixes an unreported bug in SpecialListredirects.php, and does a few cosmetic changes in SpecialPreferences.php
