#83 Error rendering data

Newcomer to Cinelerra. I built my first short (10 seconds), test project, including an .avi clip and two .wav audio clips. I've tried rendering into a variety of formats, but with no luck at all. Regardless, I keep getting a popup saying "Error rendering data." It's probably something blindingly obvious, but I've done lots of searching online and find nothing to help me. This is very possibly (probably?) user error, but I could use some assistance. I hope I can get this working as Cinelerra looks like a very powerful tool.

I have Cinelerra 2.1 cv, build 2007-03-08 13;13:02 utc, part of the dyne:bolic distro.
