Sorry, development of HelloNzb has been paused for a long time now ...

I just saw that someone posted the same problem over 3 years ago. https://sourceforge.net/p/hellonzb/discussion/general/thread/59e48b63f9/ I'm really not interested in installing a newer version that includes Java if I don't need it.

Is there any way to use a portable version of HelloNzb with Windows 10 if Java is already installed? My Java is Version 8 Update 351. I thought that was the most recent version. I tried version 1.4.9 of HelloNzb and was told Java was not installed.

  • Matthias Matthias posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Sorry guys, but i really need a better problem description. Since it's working fine on my end, I cannot reproduce your error. So can you please tell me WHAT EXACTLY does not work for you? Thanks!

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

SBNZB is the only one that works on Windows 10 currently.

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Yep, same problem. Cannot successfullu load dowmload directory or any other for that matter.

  • Matthias Matthias posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

I use HelloNzb multiple times a week without any issues. What exactly does NOT work for you?

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

same problem but even more annoying, it won't clear a successful download from the queue so it won't advance to the next. hellonzb 1.5.0/1.5.1, jre 9.0.4, high sierra 17G66

  • Matthias Matthias posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

That is quite weird. I cannot reproduce this problem on my machine. When you select the download folder via the GUI, and click SAVE on the settings panel, then open the settings again, is the selected folder still correctly there?

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Had the same issue, had to manually type in the path instead of using the browse gui to select the folder. Problem worked around, but there is definately a bug.

  • Matthias Matthias posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Can you send me the full log file please?

  • Anonymous posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Same problem. I can create as many directorys as I want in the dowload directory setting, but after select it and save the settings, START pops the error: Impossible to create the download directory. Thanks for your help.

Now that's quite strange . I just tested it with an Altopia account, and both connecting as well as downloading files from there worked fine on my machine. So we need to find out what could be the problem on your end ...

  • hvxwuvjhb@emlhub.com hvxwuvjhb@emlhub.com posted a comment on ticket #62

If custom JREs are not supported then it should not be possible to install without the bundled JRE.

  • Matthias Matthias posted a comment on ticket #62

Since version 1.5.0 HelloNzb expects to run with the bundeld JRE. I am sorry but we cannot give you support to run it with a custom JRE. If you really want to use your own runtime, then you will have to copy a (stripped-down) version into a "JRE" sub folder within the HelloNzb installation directory.

Another thought... With cyber coins...crypto currency...some "wallets" will download entire blockchain...150 GBytes to 200 GBytes...to disk. If even one "block" (segment) is missing, truncated, corrupted, or incorrectly time/date stamped...then the entire blockchain must usually be downloaded from scratch. This is a growing problem. World needs tools to examine individual block...check correlation with prior block and next block...replace and integrade new block if flaw is found. This problem seems...

Couple of odd things. Mostly with files that have 4000-5000 segments or more. Also...the large segment count must be for a single file. Usually two-three seasons of an anime, in 720p or 1080p, compressed into a single bundle. (1) Sometimes percent complete goes bad. Sometimes "progress" reaches 100% while many segments are left to download. I have never been able to finish a download after this happens. (2) Sometimes after all segments are downloaded, HelloNZB will stop decoding in the middle of...

I think I need a manual for the different config settings in the registry. HelloNZB seems like it's trying to check a version number against an online sourceforge location. But sourceforge is currently moving the HelloNZB database. Therefore HelloNZB hangs. I tried to disable this checking, but was unsuccessful. I would like to disable ANY attempt by HelloNZB to access sourceforge. That being said...can you post a link to a manual or user guide that explains all the registry keys? Thanks!!
