Meteo now requires MacOS 13+. OK. However, if a machine is still on MacOS 12 or lower, Meteo 3.5.2 will report version 4 and offer it for download.
I’m not sure what the update mechanism in use is. I know when using Sparkle, just a bit of server-side work makes it possible to avoid this, with v3 not being told about v4 (until the user is on a supported OS).
Not 100% true. There is a Preference option to turn off looking for updates.
True enough, but in general, version checking is a good thing to keep on. Ideally, however, it would not inform the user about incompatible updates.
I did indeed turn it off. However, that now means that when I update this machine to MacOS 13, I won’t get notified about Meteo 4+.
Interesting thought. Can I change the update option to only be active if the update is acceptable. I'll keep it in mind for the future.
Have a great day.
