This major release of Foundation includes several key features to improve the data throughput
and data reliability.

-> Integrated JMS Topic & Queue server to enable publish/subscribe of events and guaranteed delivery of messages.

-> re-factored Business layer to use Hibernate Criteria instead of HQL. This resulted in a significant performance improvement.

-> Improved documentation and tutorials available as PDF

A new enhanced version of GroundWork Foundation an IT management data abstraction layer and development platform is available for download.
The new release includes a WebService API, Customizable Reporting framework all deployable into an Application server.
The Binary distribution includes the Data Integration Framework (Foundation), a Report Viewer (Eclipse Birt) and an integrated Servlet container (Jetty).

The Foundation 1.1 Final Release is available for download.

GroundWork Foundation is an IT management data abstraction layer and development platform. Foundation 1.1 has been enhanced to integrate more diverse data sources into a single data store. This was achieved by introducing properties for describing the data points instead of using database fields for each measurement. The APIs and the existing feeders are backward compatible with previous versions.
The Foundation data model allows the integration of any state, event, and performance data, independent of the Monitoring Application that produces it. This offers the possibility to store data for additional systems, including open source and commercial monitoring systems, databases, and even hardware, such as detectors or sensors. GroundWork Foundation, an IT management data abstraction layer and development platform, has undergone a major overhaul under the hood. The data abstraction layer is now more generic and easier to integrate with IT management tools. It still works great with Nagios "out of the box" but now you can more easily add any kind of network application that spits out data you need to aggregate.

GroundWork Foundation, a Java-based XML feeder system for Nagios, is now a separate project from Status Viewer, GroundWork's new UI for Nagios. Foundation is a flexible data aggregation system used so far to make Nagios more "enterprise-ready". However, there are many uses for Foundation above and beyond Nagios. With a perl, php, and java API for the feeder and listener, we look forward to seeing new ways in which Foundation can be used.
