I experience an asserion failure here. I use Debian 9, XFCE and gschema Version 1.1.00 (2015-04-29).

This problem arises when I change (increase) the number of observed output variables in the GUI. For example, ticking the "Current"-Box when before only the "Voltage"-Box was ticked. Or when selecting additional nets to observe.

See the screenshot I attached for a backtrace.

I assuming you are using GNU-CAP since you refer to ticking thr "Current"-Box. At present I can only get an old version of GNU-CAP running on my system (all other version break) but I can occasionally duplicate the fault you're reported.

I've also done the same test on the latest code base (v1.1.95) of gSpiceUI in the SVN but aren't getting the fault. Try the latest code base and let me know how you get on.

    Regards
