GNV 1.5-6 has partial support for preserving filename
case when creating archives with zip, but it still does
several case sensitive comparisons on values that are
no longer upcased or downcased. The attached patch
takes care of that and also removes the caret escape
characters from filenames when placing them in an
archive (so, for example, foo^.bar.baz is stored a
foo.bar.baz).
