Gnoppix Linux 23 has broken away from the traditional Gnome Desktop and made the switch to XFCE. This changes marks a major shift in the usability and performance of Gnoppix Linux.
The XFCE Desktop Environment is lightweight, fast, customizable and can be used on older hardware while still remaining visually attractive. This makes it the perfect choice for Gnoppix Linux users. XFCE comes with a number of integrated applications, such as a text editor, a media player, and a file manager.
Gnoppix Linux 23 has a number of other improvements designed to improve the overall performance and usability of Gnoppix Linux. Among the changes are a redesigned UI with improved accessibility for users using assistive technologies, a larger selection of content-rich applications, and security updates and bug fixes.
“We are excited about the move from Gnome to XFCE and believe it will bring a new level of performance and usability to Gnoppix Linux” said Andreas Mueller, lead developer of Gnoppix Linux. “We are confident our users will be thrilled with the changes.”
Gnoppix Linux 23 is available for download now from gnoppix.org.
