I use:

gmusicbrowser 0.949
It happens randomly often enough to bug me. Several
times a day. Unfortunately I don't have more
information and I don't have free time to discover
anything more.

Is the error repeatable with the same file and do you hear
strange sounds before it happens ?
I get this error on a mostly-bad mp3 file.
There is a checkbox 'ignore playback errors' in the audio
tab of the settings dialog, when checked it will silently
skip the song when an error occurs.
