I've found that when I open multiple references sequences from the
same data source in different browser tabs or windows, the cookies
seem to be 'conflicting' or otherwise interacting. Here is an example
use case that shows the problem.
* In my data 'neighboring' scaffolds in the assembly are 'linked' by
special 'link features' that appear at either end of the scaffold (one
scaffold = one references sequence).
* Viewing scaffold A, I click the right hand 'link feature' and I get
taken to the details page for that feature (in a new tab). The name of
the link feature is configured to be a URL which takes me to the
neighboring scaffold, scaffold B (in the same tab). So far so good.
* Now if I go back to the original tab and try to zoom in or out for
example, I suddenly find myself viewing scaffold B. I.e. Scaffold A in
this tab has been changed to B because I just loaded B in the second
tab.
Note, this problem doesn't occur with multiple browser tabs or windows
between data sources.
