gmmusic-1.1.91 is released

Hello everybody,

we've just released the latest development version of gmmusic: 1.1.91.

Manfred once again did great work to fix bugs and make gmmusic again
working with PostgreSQL 7.3.

From this release on, gmmusic is split into two parts: the mmusic
backend (all database routines, which are independant of the frontend)
and the gmmusic frontend. If you install the tarball, you will currently
notice no difference, since both are included in the tarball. But if you
install gmmusic via RPM, you need to download the RPM package for
mmusic, too.... read more

gmmusic-1.1.90 (almost stable) is released

Hi,

after stuggling with Perl 5.8 and RedHat 8.0, and the fact, that the old released don't run anymore on "modern" systems, we've deciced to release a recent tarball of gmmusic, so that you don't have to checkout the latest sources from CVS.

This tarball might generate RPMs on SuSE 8.1 systems, but for many reasons, which I've tried but failed to fix, you cannot build a RPM for RedHat 8.0. That's a pity, but this task currently consumes too much time. RedHat 8.0, the new release 4.1 of rpm, new autogen and gettext mechanisms are a bit too much.... read more

we're pleased to announce the latest development release of gmmusic.

- You can fetch the song data of an LP from freedb (and so
save time when you enter that LP).
- The toolbar is configurable now (if for example, you don't have
any minidiscs, you can leave them out from your toolbar and
save space).... read more

gmmusic 1.0 is released

With that release, gmmusic has now reached its demanded reliability and from now on, we can focus again on implementing lots of cool and new features. Our TODO list grow longer and longer the last weeks, but if you also have wishes for us, please tell us.

From today on, gmmusic will be split into two branches - a stable branch (the 1.0 tree) and a development branch (the 1.1 tree, which will be opened these days). With that strategy, we can continue providing a rock solid production release on the one hand and a bleeding-edge development release on the other hand.... read more
