Can't install on ubuntu
Hello people ! I did manage to have my Monitor 2 in fullscreen, but when I play the video sequence, it is then not animated on the output monitor. Did anyone experienced the same issue ? Many thanks. Antoine
I have multiple errors attempting to run the snap glmixer unofficial on 20.04 * multiple /etc/fonts/fonts.conf errors (/etc/fonts/fonts.conf does exist). * libGL error: MESA-LOADER: * OpenGL Frame Buffer ...not supported. More details attached. Have tested with both nouveau and nvidea drivers Please advise
Go to settings:monitor:fullscreen monitor:monitor 2 (your projector). I project and use a macbook pro and this works for me.
I'm able to output to my projector but I cannot continue mixing. I'm using a Macbook Pro hooked to an external projector but once I go fullscreen it uses my laptop screen. I went into the preferences/output but it does not see the projector. When I use it with an extra monitor hooked to my laptop GL Mixer does recognize both monitors. Any advise would be appreciated.

ow... interesting... Thanks for your contact Me and my wife were planning to move to resolume for our friday nights Sous on friday, the Weekendmix but still really enjoy the intuitive way op working from GL mixer.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ihf3zsh3EgU&t=721s Resolume is mostly interesting for folks that dont make their own loops like we do, Every week I create new psychedelic video loops in blender open source for our friend Sous Dubois, managing DJ from AMW.FM. My wife is mixing it all together...
Hi Bruno Thanks for this. I will do this and have a go. Thanks for the comment. This feature is implemented in vimix: Please note GLMixer is discontinued, but a new tool is on the making: https://brunoherbelin.github.io/vimix/
Please note GLMixer is discontinued, but a new tool is on the making: https://brunoherbelin.github.io/vimix/ After over 10 years of development, GLMixer reached its end of life with the end of the Qt4 library support for all platforms. Starting fresh with a clean design, vimix takes the best out of GLMixer and is more versatile and performant. Please consider joining the effort and contributing.

Please check in the settings; in the Render panel, you can change parameters of the rendering performance and disable some options that do not work on all computers. Also some tips at https://sourceforge.net/p/glmixer/wiki/Performance%20Improvements/ Please note GLMixer is discontinued, but a new tool is on the making: https://brunoherbelin.github.io/vimix/
Thanks for your question. You first have to make sure your computer is configured with two different video outputs (not as clones) in the graphics settings of your machine. Then you can place the output window in the corresponding monitor only. Please note GLMixer is discontinued, but a new tool is on the making: https://brunoherbelin.github.io/vimix/
Thanks for the positive feedback. Path to media files in a session are relative to the session file location: if you move all together it will work. If you change location of a video, it is relatively easy to open the glm file as text in a pure-text editor and edit the path to the media files directly. Please note GLMixer is discontinued, but a new tool is on the making: https://brunoherbelin.github.io/vimix/
i would love to know the resolution aa well
hi everyone, i just downloaded glmixer , i would love to know how to project the session on the projector, but only the output session, not the main controls of it! thank you!
Dear Friends, This looks like a fantastic piece of software, which I have just downloaded and looking forward to using. Unfortunately, I cannot see anything in the output window, it appears completely black. I have attempted to move the slide bar to the left, having read some of the previous forums, all to no avail. I'm sure I'm just missing a trick somewhere - please can anyone help? Kind Regards Simon
Hi I am new to GL Mixer, although I have some experience with Max and Jitter, so I can see how cool this app is. I have installed on a 2018 Macbook Pro 8G RAM (I know it is not a lot) When I select the 'create a device' and press OK or test device, GL Mixer crashes. Every time. I have see my camera in the list. I have tried selecting different aspect ratios. My camera states that it is not connected and I cannot see output at all Any ideas what this could be and how to fix it? thanks
Basically i could run the program and start to use it and then run into a crash, now GL mixer will fail to start, locking intsef in the initial logo. Deinstalled and reinstalled to previous version but the results are the same.
Hi There; I really am amazed by the versatility if this app and use it now during the live DJ sets, mixing 3D visuals i created in Blender. Now if i am creating a session on another PC, how can i pack all the MP4s i loaded In the session and save it to open on another PC Or create relative path's since i have the same loops on the other machine. It is a few gigabytes on VideoLoops so just re-linking the video's seems easiest to me, just like in Indesign, Illustrator or Blender etc. Hope to hear if...
I gave the github issue an picture update ;)
You are not the first to have a very small GUI at start: could you send the picture again ? Maybe the scaling could be improved... NB: vimix 0.3 update will come very soon..
Looks great! fantastic! will check it out as soon as possible the Gui is very small and hard to read... in my case.... see picture ... sorry, I found the scale option! great in the top left menu

Hi ! Yeah unfortunately is became impossible to compile GLMixer due to obsolete dependencies... :( Check out its successor https://brunoherbelin.github.io/vimix/
Good guess.. GLMixer is indeed stopped due to too many obsolete dependencies. Check out its successor : https://brunoherbelin.github.io/vimix/
New to GLMixer is there anyway to ouput its video output to a ZOOM call? Thanks for your help. P.
Thank you very much for the program!
Thank you so much! :) I will try this out today. Have a good day, Tristan
Hi Tristan, I have. I was using Processing to send OSC commands, some worked and some like geometry didnt. i played around until it worked. It seemd to be very fussy about the format of the numbers passed to commands like geometry. They need to be passed as floats but im not sure if this is a quirk of processing. Here is a n example: OscMessage myMessage4 = new OscMessage("/glmixer/Recording5/Geometry"); myMessage4.add(0.0); myMessage4.add(0.0); myMessage4.add(10.0); myMessage4.add(10.0); myMessage4.add(0.0);...
Hello :) Have you had any Luck finding a Solution for this? I am currently working on a Software to send OSC to GLMixer and I found that while some propertys like Pause/Unpause work perfectly fine, others like Geometry or ChromaKey just return the "invalid attribute" Error. Has anyone had these work before? Greetings!
The last commit was created around 9 months ago. Is this project still under development? I want to know this so I know if I should spend time reporting issues.
hi guys, I tried the abovementioned suggestion `/glmixer/current/Geometry NNNNNNf 45`` and am still getting Failed - malformed address pattern '/glmixer/current/Geometry NNNNNNf 45' Failed (/glmixer/current/Geometry NNNNNNf 45 malformed address pattern) (from 127.0.0.1) other commands are working e.g. '/glmixer/select/Recording5' Trying /glmixer/select/Recording5 Executed. Any help greatly appreciated, Thanks
A working snap would be awesome... it is not working for me though!

Hey guys, I figured it out! I had the same issue, and reading the OSC documentation from the tab from the OSC window, I noticed that the only geometry and blending properties available there are Alpha, AlphaCoordinates and Geometry. The position, scale rotation center and angle are attributes from geometry like this: /glmixer/current/Geometry fffffff [1][2][3][4][5][6][7] [1] - Pos X [2] - Pos Y [3] - Scale X [4] - Scale Y [5] - Rot. Center X [6] - Rot. Center Y [7] - Angle so, if I want to only...

I made a snap: https://github.com/markus-wa/glmixer-snap right now you need to build it from source as it's awaiting approval in the snap store: snap install multipass --classic snapcraft snap install glmixer-unofficial_1.7-r1922_amd64.snap --dangerous --devmode
GL Mixer compatibility with Ubuntu 2020?
I'm also curious about 20.20 compatibility w/GLMixer. It appears Herbelin is now working on a new software for 2020, may have to wait for that release.
Hei! I was not able to fetch the missing dependencies (libqt4-network and others) Could someone already install GLM in Ubuntu 20.04? An updated package would be wonderful! Unfortunately I have to admit that I am not able to compile myself Many greetings!
Heres another using a string copied straight from the GLMixer Wiki page. I'm using 1.7 rev 1910 16" MacBookPro OS 10.15.4 AMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4 GB Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB Quartz Composer 4.6.1 Listening to 127.0.0.1:5300, 192.168.1.152:5300 Broadcasting to port 3000 '/glmixer/current/Rotation f 45' Trying /glmixer/current/Rotation f 45 Failed - malformed address pattern '/glmixer/current/Rotation f 45' Failed (/glmixer/current/Rotation f 45 malformed address pattern) (from 127.0.0.1)
Same issue here i think. Trying to send OSC from Quartz Composer. Connects at least but no commands seem to work so far, for example: '/glmixer/current/Rotation f ' Failed (/glmixer/current/Rotation f malformed address pattern) (from 127.0.0.1) '/glmixer/current/Rotation f ' Trying /glmixer/current/Rotation f 178.6807943729603 Failed - malformed address pattern
Depends on your requirements. I've done live shows with my HP Elitebook, mixing 2-5 sources at a time using. Intel Core i7 620M Processor 2.66GHz NVIDIA Quadro FX 380M (512MB)... Ubuntu Getting Stability of that unit though for live shows with FHD 1080/1920 though was possible but a challenge, skill had to be used in session transitions, the OS and Bios had to be fine tuned for fast crash recovery . -- FHD 720 (linqua franca with many VJ's over the years) was much much much more stable. Now I'm using...

Is there a way to make GLMixer output to a v4l2 output device, specifically v4l2loopback, so that its output can be used as input to other programs that only recognise cameras as input. E.g. webconferencing or video chat
Hi I want to buy a new computer specifically for running GLMixer for live perfomancers. As i am doing this i wanted to get some advice/recommendations. Not to buy the wrong hardware for this program or the best posible. I am using Ubuntu if that has any influence in what i should be getting. And thank you for making this software I am a big fan. Best regards Gustav
This is possible in OBS with the use of a $17 app (over wifi or USB), and I used it in a pinch once. If it's possible there, I'm sure the technology and concepts could be implemented for something similar.
This would require a hardware and OS specific implementation, which GLMixer would not support. However, webcam emulators or network streaming could work, e.g. https://skjm.com/ipcam/support.php
Thanks for the suggestion. I added a ticket (#107) for this feature request.
Custom Aspect Ratio output (e.g. 19:10)
Though it would be cool as a feature to give ratio control to two integers... (X:Y)
Based on my brief exploration... yes this is possible. It would require you to manually resize til it looks good on the output monitor. This definitely makes it difficult to precreate designs for that setup... (a workaround) To compile a predesigned 19:10 setup I would likely use a grid for my desktop background and view only the output window on it. Make the window displayable size match that grid to the ratio you described... from there you can set up your graphics in GLmixer and circumvent the...

Greetings all! I'm a small visual engineering operation in Oregon looking for further instruction or advice on some of the OSC options I'm trying to craft for this software. I've found the full OSC document in the wiki and love how it's put together. It gives a lot of syntax and commands. However, I'm looking for some deeper commands I can trigger. Things such as "Select all of color Yellow, (fader) controls PositionX of group" and things similar. One of the challenges I've run into lately is utilizing...

Happy to report also... that... [X] Disable Frame Buffer Bit works for me.
Hi Herb, Great! Thank you for letting me know.
Hi Sin Fluence, you won't loose functionality. It would just be faster if your hardware would support it.
Hi Guys, Sorry for the delayed response. I went through the Disable checkboxes, and checking the "Disable Frame Buffer Blit" fixed the output. I'm not sure what that setting does. Anyone know what functionality I will be lacking with that disabled? At any rate, I super appreciate your taking the time to help Herb and D!
Hi DJonsson, glad I could help. Are you sure deactivate filters is the only option that makes it work again? Sometimes a seemingly random one/combination of those 4 checkboxes works just as well. You might also want to (additionally) try to switch to another aspect ratio (right of the brightness slider) and back, sometimes it helps. If filters keeps being the only remedy, perhaps you can find a similar shadertoy effect.
Is this possible?
Thanks Herb, Disabling filters works in my situation with both vers. 1.4 and 1.7 on windows. At first I thought no output no preview was related to the brightness slider mentioned in this thread. https://sourceforge.net/p/glmixer/discussion/general/thread/d75533c701/ Odd thing is though filters used to work. It was only after installing 1.7 that I noticed the problem. Wished there was a better insight into the causality of this. On my Ubuntu machine I don't have any of this problem that though is...

Hello, Sorry for my ignorance, I was wondering if there is a way to get GLMixer to recognize an iphone to use as a live video feed? basically the way the webcam on my mac does it but use the iphone instead. Thank you for any help. Cheers TB
Added Grid test pattern Freeframe plugin & updated dialog
Updated freeframe plugins Clock and Mire with text display.
Hi. Thanks for the bug report! Confirmed and reproduced :( .. When running GLMixer under OSX of a different version than the one of the GLMixer binary (in your case, using GLMixer compiled for 10.13 under OSX 10.14) the webcam access is causing a crash of the app. This will be fixed when a new version is provided for OSX 10.14 (and 10.15). The problem is the unavailability of Qt4 under those operating systems (the support has been entirely stopped, and I didn't succeed in recompiling it yet). Help...
Nice! Thanks! It's running smooth! :)

Thank you for the interest of my idea. The concept is how you wrote me to create a "Template for source creation: it's easy to program (apply all geometry and mixing properties when creating a source), but there are many ways to let the user control this." It would be useful to give the possibility to create multiple templates (with geometry and mixing properties) and during the creation of the source or after creating the source, select the one to assign to the source. And maybe even give the possibility...
Thanks for the suggestion. Interesting idea! Actually several ideas in there.. 1) Meta source; a source containing sources into it: this is tricky, not only to program, but mostly to provide the user interface to mix and place sources recursively (i.e. a full session inside one source) 2) Template for source creation: it is easy to program (apply all geometry and mixing properties when creating a source), but there are many ways to let the user control this. 3) Blank source; place-holder for future...

Hi, I had some crashes lately, but there was nothing crash related in the logs. Can something be done about that like setting it to be more verbose or creating a debug build, or something else?
I have tried multiple frame rate, resolution, and aspect ratio settings, but the Output Window and Preview are both black (screenshot attached). My PC specs: HP Envy Laptop Windows 8.1 (64-bit) Intel i7-4710HQ CPU (using built-in graphics) 16 GB RAM When I run GLMixer, my CPU runs at about 20%. I have searched through all tickets and discussion topics, and cannot find anything to explain this. Any help would be greatly appreciated :) P.S. I also have GLMixer installed on my desktop PC and it runs...

I now have this really cool offer to do some stuff on a imax screen! My worry is the aspect ratio options. The aspect ratio of the imax screen is 19:10...My question is...will the "free window size" option accommodate this?
