I got a similar error when using gutenprint on Void Linux. I found that this is due to rastertogutenprint.5.3 not being able to find the modules in $PKGMODULEDIR due to the library directory being defined incorrectly in config.h as: /* */ #define PKGMODULEDIR "${exec_prefix}/lib64/gutenprint/5.3/modules" This is due to these lines in void-packages which specify libdir on the configure command line in terms of exec_prefix, which the current configure script of gutenprint puts directly into config.h...

I guess the UP-DR150 acts differently enough from the UP-DR200. I think you're the first person who's ever directly contacted me about this model. While I can work around this specific problem, what would really help here is a USB sniff of Windows or MacOS generating a test print (along with some common errors like having the cover open) so I can see the specifics of what this printer needs. If that's not possible, let me know and we'll see what we can do.
Printer prints successfully but produces an error forcing me to cancel and reset
Hey Solomon, thanks a lot for your reply and pointing into the right direction. Nevertheless it looks like I'am not able to master CUPS + Gutenprint. So I took your 2nd advice and build a small converter to change the images to the native resolution of the printer. If anybody is interested: https://github.com/DXorSX/HotFolder2PhotoPrinter If I find some time I will update everything to the latest versions and try again. Regards John

It's not that a gtk3 (and/or a proper gimp3) port isn't being considered, it's that there's nobody with a combination of time, skills, and willingness to do the actual work.
I'm curious if this is even being considered, as there are fewer and fewer packages still requiring gtk+ 2. It's certainly far from being critical, but I suspect at some point, gtk+ 2 will get deprecated and dropped from distros.
OK👍 If may I ask about yet another thing .. is it possible to change tagging convention from current gutenprint-gutenprint-<version_with_underscores> to <version.with.dots>?🤔 It would allow easier detection of new versions.
There's nothing IC an do about that, unfortuantely -- Robert generated that tarbal on a private branch and (I think) held off on the tag for the "fixed" MacOS builds that never happened, Because Reasons. I'm intending to generate a 5.3.5 build "soon", deprecating MacOS entirely.
What I forgot to mention in the original post is that the only way to get the printer unstuck seems to be a full power cycle. The printer doesn't respond correctly to usbreset, and physically disconnecting and reconnecting the USB connector rarely manages to get it to continue. I also attached another CUPS log with more processed jobs. Jobs 82 to 84 legitimately stalled because I was in the process of doing a power cycle. Job 85 printed successfully, then job 81 got stuck.

2023-10-19 is The most likely explanation for this is that you have ipp-usb installed and that's conflicting with gutenprint/selphy_print. The CUPS error log would include more detail as to what's going wrong.
