GePhex is a modular real-time video effect framework.
0.0.4 provides again lots of bug-fixes and some improvements.
Our main focus since 0.0.4beta2 was to improve stability and usability.
This is the first release we consider stable.
The most important changes to 0.0.4beta2 (other than bug-fixes) are:
* automatic spawning of the engine process
* translation of some forgotten texts to english, new icons for
effects, icon for gui
* new, human readable graph format
* easier configuration (only one config file) and better
installation on unix platforms (example graphs and some pics are
installed)
* switched to release target on win32... read more

focus since 0.0.4alpha2 was to improve stability and usability.
This is the last release before 0.0.4.
We fixed all severe open bugs and made the network code much more robust.
This allows to detach the user interface from the engine and to continue
the running effect.
Another benefit is its improved startup speed. Loading the plug-ins now only

This release adds unified support for jpeg, bmp, png, avi, mpeg files with the new frbinmodule.
It also introduces sound support. There are modules for both audio input and output. These modules support OSS, alsa and wavein.

All framebuffer output drivers now have controls for brightness, contrast, gamma. Some new effects and a lot of small improvements and bug fixes.... read more

It is now possible to create Debian packages from the cvs source. Just do a
> fakeroot dpkg-buildpackage
and you get binary packages of GePhex. This should be possible with the woody and the sid distribution.
Cause of the g++ transition and changes to the glibc binary packages in sid there are no binary packages to apt-get yet. With the 0.4 release there will be a apt-getable repository for stable/woody and unstable/sid.
