There is now a public Subversion repository for the GeoWidgets source code, hosted at GeoTools.

Anonymous checkout is possible for everyone. Developers interested in committing code may introduce themselves at the GeoTools developer mailing list:

In the file release system GeoWidgets-libs-1.0.M1.zip was originally corrupted (could not get unpacked). It has been replaced by a working version in the meantime.

This version contains both Swing and Eclipse-based widgets for selecting (and creating) coordinate reference systems (CRS) and related objects, such as units of measure. The property view based widget is new and not yet complete, but should already work.
Work will now focus on map layer/legends widgets and - on the longer term - map layer styling widgets for SLD styles.
