I had the problem. The solution was to install 'ImageMagick-
6.1.6-Q16-windows-dll.exe' with option 'install
ImageMagickobject control' checked. before installing
GenIconXP (ignore registration error)

ignore! the Message then. It works very fine then.

und installieren.
Danach dann GenIconXP 0.2 installieren und die Fehlermeldung
"Registration Error" einfach ignorieren. Danach luft alles
prima.
Zusammen mit Gimp und Inkscape-Vectorgrafik eine gar
mchtige, freie und schnell zu erfassende Ganz und
Gar-Komplettlsung. Vielen Dank dafr an die

I had the same error, but after installing ImageMagick with
the option "Install ImagemagickObject OLE Control for
VBscript, Visual Basic, and WSH" checked, the imagemagick
installer registers this component itself and the genIconXP
install does not issue any errors.

GenIconXP includes an obsolete version of
ImageMagickObject.dll that will not register correctly with
version 6.2.8-8-Q16 of ImageMagick installed.
While an updated version of the DLL is included with this
version and is registered by the ImageMagick installer, its
function calls are sufficiently different that it does not
work with GenIconXP. Opening an image causes "Compare: 410:
missing an image file name '[full path to image including
filename]' and does not open.

Recursion to deep;the stack over flowed
Tryed registrering manually also.. no luck. Installed into same
folder as ImageMagick and seem to want to work but then
fails.

problem seems to be inside the .dll, the specific error
message is that there's some kind of internal looping recursion:

I have a solution for this problem:
1) install GenIconXP 0.2 and delete the file "c:\program
files\geniconxp\imagemagickobject.dll".
2) install 'ImageMagick-X.X.X-Q16-windows-dll.exe' with
option 'install ImageMagickobject control' checked.
Order is not important, but you must delete the file
"imagemagickobject.dll" in the "geniconxp" install dir.
