From here on forward, hellcat is the main admin (along with TheCat) on the GalaxyView project. I'm just running out of time and feeling like I'm holding up the project and tooks steps to rectify that problem. I'm still around for questions, some work as I have time, etc - but HC is the main person for coordination now. Thanks for all your help. -- Ken Weinert kwe...@gm... |

Hullo everyone, We thought you'd like an update on GalaxyView. Lots has been happening. We're completely rewriting GalaxyView using wxWindows and C++. GalaxyView will store all data in SQL and use XML as a native import/export format. We've been working with the Galaxy Explorer folks to develop an XML DTD that will work for NG, Blind and GE (actually, Alexander Supalov from GE has done a heck of a lot of work on the XML). MC is editing the NG XML to match, and either write a converter or edit the Blind source directly. GalaxyView 3 will support Blind, GE, and NG out-of-the-box. We've got a basic framework that will read in a turn and we're working on the initial map and map events now. MC and hellcat have been doing a lot of coding, with some help from Azrael and teddy. I've been doing some (not enough) work on the help files. In the meantime, I'm rewriting the NG manual and help docs from the ground up. At any rate, we should have an initial beta out in the next few months and will post info about it here. I think you'll like some of the new features. It may seem like not much is going on because there hasn't been much email. If you're interested in joining the development team, or simply chatting with us, join us on IRC at irc.pbem.net in #galaxyview. Most of our discussions have been on IRC. christhecat |

Here we go.... ----- "Invisible Pink Unicorns are beings of great spiritual power. We know this because they are capable of being invisible and pink at the same time. Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them." --Steve Eley Chris Shaffer Th...@bs... http://www.gesserit.net/chris/ |
